Dwellers in a casual ward

For several months I visited the dwellers of a casual ward in the eastern Ruhr Area, which enabled me to compile a photojournalistic report  beyond the usual stereotypes. It was not my intention to give any explanations within the photographs, but to take a closer look at a rather isolated settlement from a sympathetic point of view. The casual ward is isolated in every sense: Situated between a power plant and the local garbage dump, very few people actually know of its existence.
